In case you needed reminding that Doctor x Master is now canon
bonus:
I’m sorry to add commentary to a gifset that I’m sure someone worked hard on but y’all need to hear me out.
Stop treating this moment like it was something cute/romantic/funny.
12 has been shown to be apparently asexual and possibly aromantic and OBVIOUSLY doesn’t enjoy being touched excessively.
Moffat has treated these things like a joke, from Clara hugging 12 when he’s said he’s not a ‘hugging person’ anymore to this.
THIS IS NOT CUTE, THIS IS NOT ROMANTIC, THIS IS NOT A FUCKING PUNCHLINE.
THIS IS FUCKING ASSAULT AND THE FACT THAT 12 ASKS IF IT’S OVER PROVES HE OBVIOUSLY DIDN’T ENJOY IT, IT CLEARLY MADE HIM UNCOMFORTABLE.
The fact that the fandom is more concerned about DoctorxMaster being canon than this very problematic theme of people being kissed or touched without their permission that Moffat has turned into one big joke is really concerning.
The fact that Moffat has written 12 with asexual behavior and established that he doesn’t like being touched should make it so that people respect that in the show and the fact that it’s not the case shows that Moffat has no respect for asexual people or those that don’t appreciate excessive human contact.
Friendly reminder that Moffat has been quoted as saying that asexuals would be no fun to write (it was in reference to Sherlock but if he feels that way about one character it feels safe to assume he would have the same attitude across the board).
So it makes perfect sense (in his twisted world) that Moffat would give Twelve asexual/aromantic tendencies and then turn around and force physical contact and a romantic relationship on him. It’s probably his way of “turning” Twelve straight, the way he “turned” Irene Adler straight after meeting Sherlock (or whatever…he’s also been quoted as saying that bisexual people are just waiting for someone to make them straight).
And if you guys care more about Master/Doctor being canon than about what this scene says in regards to Moffat’s twisted view on sexuality, then I really am concerned about this fandom.
((Let’s not talk about the fact that Moffat felt compelled to make the Master female in order to make Master/Doctor canon.))
